“Why are you sad?” I asked Missy.
“I’m not enough.”
“How can you say that?”
“It’s true, I’m alone, I’m unloved.”
“I’m here, and I love you.”
She hugged me with tears in her eyes. But those were not all sad tears any more.
I get it. There can be days when you’re not feeling at your best. When you doubt your place in the world, the path you’ve chosen. These are days when you don’t see your light, or how amazing you are. It happens to all of us.
It’s ok to feel this way. Energy is not a bottomless well, it needs effort and care to recharge. Just like you eat every day, you need to “eat” positivity every day as well.
Maybe it’s running in the grass for you. Or writing your blog. It can be taking a hot bath or playing music – although those would definitely not be my choice. To me, it’s someone believing in me. Someone taking my head, looking into my eyes and seeing my soul.
To me, the best weapon against unhappiness is us.
“… the best weapon against unhappiness is us” – I love that phrase! What a wise dog you have!
