Focus on the food

l often see Missy not paying attention to her food when eating. It’s one of those things that we dogs never do: they call it multitasking. We’re always in the moment, in ONE moment, no matter what we do. Humans on the other hand are rarely ever here, they’re so distracted with these things they call “past” and “future”.

“A happy life is just a string of happy moments. But most people don’t allow the happy moment, because they’re so busy trying to get a happy life.”

Esther Hicks

I took it up to me to show her how to simply be: when we walk, we’re there. When we play, we’re there. And when we eat, we’re there, too.

By this time we expected the arrival of warmer days but April has other plans.

So it wasn’t possible to change “venues” after all, and take our lunch outside. (Officially Missy’s lunch but of course what’s hers is mine, too – especially food!) Hopefully it’ll change soon, and Missy can practice focusing solely on her food when she’s eating!

What’s your best tool/trick/friend to help you focus on the moment? I’d love to hear!

Love, Mia

April health challenge update:
– Did Missy order food? No
– Did we both eat veggie/fruit for every meal? I actually did but Missy had a nasty fever so she’s only eating milk rice to soothe her throat.
– Did we exercise? Nope
Did we take 7k steps? Afraid not!
– Did Missy visit at least 3 blogs in the challenge? No – we’ll make it up to you all!

  1. No wonder you are staying inside. It looks very cold and not good for Missy’s sore throat. If you were at my place you would be lucky to get out between rain showers. I like you philosophy of live for the moment but I’m afraid I can’t give up my habit of reading when I’m eating.
