Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.
Once upon a time, there was a woman named Missy, who, despite all stereotypes, did not like shoes very much. She wore them, of course, but didn’t find them beautiful or particularly interesting. She usually had 3 pairs at any point in time: one for work (only no-heels, comfort first), one for walking Mia, and one for more serious hikes.
It didn’t take long for Mia to catch on what would happen after Missy put on the shoes in the morning. Work shoes sometimes meant she’d have to stay at home, other times she’d go with Missy to the office, which was great: everybody loved her there.
Walking shoes were always fun but very soon the hiking boots became her favourite: on hiking boots days there were always adventures, new places, exciting scents.
One summer day, Missy and Mia set out on a hike in the mountains. The sun was shining, and the air was crisp and refreshing. As they made their way up the trail, Mia ran around the boots happily, enticing them for more distance, more ground to cover.
“Come this way, I smell a deer!”
“Here a rabbit family crossed days ago but I can still smell them!”
“It’s a new scent, bird, but huge, bigger than me!”
They walked for miles, exploring the beauty of the forest and taking in the breathtaking views from the mountaintop. This was their element, and the hiking boots carried them forward with ease.
Over the years, Missy and Mia went on many more adventures together, and the hiking boots were always with them every step of the way. They took them to the top of the some hills (mountain climbing was not their sport but going up to some easy hilltops to admire the view was always their favourite), through the occasionally dense Hungarian forests, and along winding streams, carefully avoiding crossing them. (These two did not like to get wet.)
While work shoes and walk shoes only endured a year or so, the hiking boots were in their third year now: and Mia knew they were here to stay to take them for many more adventures together.
Cute videos. Our misbehaved mini-Australian Shepherd Rollo ate my favorite shoes, so I did not go far with them. Our other dogs have been/are much better behaved. That Rollo is less well behaved is our fault of course, but he’s cute.
