What If Cats and Dogs Had Opposable Thumbs Day

If she had thumbs, Mia would use it to write. She would say: Missy’s still asleep. I’d like play though, how long do I have to wait?

Is that the alarm? Aw no, it’s not ours, it’s too far away. Another human is getting up, how lucky their dog is, unlike me, they don’t have to wait any more! Hmm, do they have a dog? I don’t smell them, poor human has no dog to love them as much as I love my Missy. She’s great, my Missy, bringing me good food, taking me on good walks… Still asleep though. I’ll sleep then too.

She moved, are we getting up? No, not yet. She’s going back to sleep. Sigh. I’m so ready to get up!

Missy, Missy, it’s the alarm! Do you hear it? She doesn’t hear it. How can she not? It’s right next to her! And she doesn’t even stir!

I’m watching her closely but nothing. Let’s sleep then.

Something’s happening! It’s the alarm again! Missy’s turned to me! Are we up?

“Still sleeping Mia” she says in her cute, sluggish way, so we’re back to it again.

We’re up! We drank water, opened the terrace door, not so cold now, yay! And we’re back to bed! Give me my chewing toy Missy! Not that, that’s your shiny box, I don’t want it! Not the brush, woman, the toy! Can’t you see it? Stop laughing, and give it to me!

There you go!

Arrrgh, I’m indestructible, I’m the best, I’m strong, I’ll take that toy DOWN!

Where is it? I’ll find it. Yes, Missy, I’m searching, although I’m quite sure you put it away, how can you not remember?

Searching, searching, the smell is everywhere, I dragged it all over the place already. Wait, I smell something stronger here, is it… Yes! It is! I got it! Missy is so proud but I’ve no time, I have to take this toy apart!

Gosh, Missy is brushing me, I can’t concentrate!

This is so good people, I’m chewing, I’m being brushed, I’m having all of Missy’s attention, life is beautiful, mornings are great and full of joy!
