When I’m sick, I often veer to the emotion of “poor me”. But, I’ve had just enough of that, so to balance, here are things I’m grateful for.
Having Mia in my life
We are closing on to our 3 year anniversary and I’m glad I still don’t take her for granted. Just looking at her little face makes me smile. Sometimes certain things take me back to where we started, and see the progress she has made, equal parts amazes and inspires me. Like the other day, given that the sun is getting stronger, I pulled the shades – when we moved here, it terrified her, making her flee in terror. Now she was not bothered at all. Sudden moves, even from me, use to also be scary. Now I can jump in front of her and she looks with calm amusement. This little thing has overcome so much pain and abuse, I couldn’t be prouder of her.
Living close to nature
With this cold I tire very easily, so we cannot take long walks. Luckily, it takes only 5 minutes to get to a little forest or to a big field on the other side, where Mia can run around, we can play nosework. So even if we’re out only for a short time, it’s an intense enough experience for her. (I hope.)
Having spring near
It’s still cold, varying between sunny and cloudy, but there are more and more warmer days: spring is irrevocably here. Spring will bring green grass, budding trees, fresh air: cannot wait!
What are you grateful for today?

Those are great things to be thankful for. I am grateful for my wife and kids, and for my dogs, and that they are all doing well. Right now we are on a ski-trip to Breckenridge and I am grateful for all we snow we have.
